Bride to Be
My sister's bridal shower.
The theme of the shower was Prince Charming (that's what she calls her fiance). Everything was pink and white. There were glass slippers filled with pink and white M&M. When wrapping my sister's gift I completely forgot about the tradition of taking the ribbons and bows to make a mock bridal bouquet. I wish I would have remebered and made a fabulous bow for it. She is so happy and in love it is contagious. Only 26 days to go!!

11 Years!
Today is my 11 year wedding anniversary. Usually we keep it mellow...just go out for dinner the 2 of us. However this year we decided to renew our vows and have a party!! I am really excited that our friends and family get to share in the happiness. I am so lucky to have married such a wonderful guy who loves me for who I am. He accepts my faults yet brings out the best in me.
Also this weekend is my older sister's bridal shower! Love is in the air! P.S These pictures make me miss my bangs!

I took a fat quarter cut it 4 inches wide and stuffed it with 3/4" wooden balls.
When I woke up this morning I knew I wanted to sew something. I knew I wouldn't have much time to myself. However I really wanted to make something today. I made a nifty bracelet. Its really all I had time for today.
Here is FW 1st sewing class! He really enjoyed it. I had him make a coaster to get the feel of the sewing machine. Also taught him a few sewing terms. I need to find some "manly" and basic patterns for him.

Proud Mama Hen...
Yesterday was a great day FW graduated elementary school.
I love my sisters they are all so gorgeous.
Summer is here...I have mixed feelings about summer. I enjoy having the boys home but its the sibling arguments that get on my last nerve. One minute they are playing nice. I look over a second later and its a full on brawl. I refuse to let them veg out and watch T.V. all day. There should be a parenting/ self-help book on surviving the summer. I would buy it!! I try to set up trips and activities but by the end of the day I am beat and the kids still have energy...Oh and the house is a mess. I <3 Summer

Busy Bee
I have cut out the fabric for my Folklore bag and I am ready to piece it together...However my older sister's wedding is this July and things are getting busy. I am excited to be helping out but it really puts my sewing on the back burner.
Clambake, Tart Deco, Siren & Lively Lilac
Can you tell I am going through an orange phase? The picture doesn't do these bright colors justice. Trying to mix it up instead of my standard Red or Wine color.

LA Zoo
Look at those spots...
The LA zoo is so green.
Getting some good use out of my Bridie sling.
We decided to make the most of being early risers and drove to the LA Zoo. We haven't been since they opened the new elephant exhibit. It's pretty neat. D really wanted to see the snakes but now the zoo is building a new reptile house so the snakes were off exhibit. D was not happy about this. Yet it was a good lesson in you can't always get what you want.

Maisonnette Oceanside
So yesterday I went to Maisonnette fabric shop in Oceanside, CA. They only carry awesome prints! Maisonnette has Anna Maria Horner's new fabric. That's what i ended up getting. They carry lots of patterns like Oliver&S, Amy Butler and Collette. I love it so much it's my screensaver

Mistakes will be made...
Thinking of using the light blue fabric for the inside pocket of my Folklore bag
I always get a little nervous starting a new sewing project. I just know I am going to do something wrong along the way...cut the fabric wrong, wrong seam allowance, miss a step in the directions. I always figure out how to deal with the mistake and in the end I usually end up with something I love. Before I start a project I like to do a little Internet research to see how other people sewed their project. Its great if I find helpful suggestions. When I sew the more information the better! I also like to see the finished project!
