week of The Boy

Maisonnette Oceanside

So yesterday I went to Maisonnette fabric shop in Oceanside, CA. They only carry awesome prints! Maisonnette has Anna Maria Horner's new fabric. That's what i ended up getting. They carry lots of patterns like Oliver&S, Amy Butler and Collette. I love it so much it's my screensaver

Mistakes will be made...

Thinking of using the light blue fabric for the inside pocket of my Folklore bag

I always get a little nervous starting a new sewing project. I just know I am going to do something wrong along the way...cut the fabric wrong, wrong seam allowance, miss a step in the directions. I always figure out how to deal with the mistake and in the end I usually end up with something I love. Before I start a project I like to do a little Internet research to see how other people sewed their project. Its great if I find helpful suggestions. When I sew the more information the better! I also like to see the finished project!

Maisonnette

I went to my absolute favorite fabric store today! Maisonnette in Oceanside. I want to buy every piece of fabric they sell there! I got fabric today but I'll post about it tomorrow.

Sea World San Diego

FW knows when the tail goes up NO good can come from that!

Checking out the new Sea Turtle exhibit. Can you see the sea turtle in the far right corner?

The sea turtles are where the manatees used to be. I always enjoyed seeing the sweet sea cows eating lettuce...who knows where they are now.
This guy reminds me I need a nap!

Wacky Hair Day!

It's wacky week at FW's school. Today was wacky hair day. Our inspiration was caught in a wind storm. I tried my best but doing hair really isn't my thing. It's a shame we got FW's hair cut last weekend. His hair was really long...I could have done crazy braids.

Let the Great world Spin

I just finished reading Let the Great World Spin By Colum McCann. This book really staisfied me! It has some dark subject matter but there was always hope. I really loved how all the stories were tangled up in New York. I was really happy with the ending because the author tied it all up.
