Palm Springs...PS I love you!

It was a kid free weekend! My Mom and 2 of my sisters stayed here.

I felt pretty good when we pulled up to check in and there was another bug there.

I am doing me best Bing Crosby...I don't think they ever actually stayed at the Del Marco.

Ice buckets in the room.

I am just sitting at the bottom of the pool. I missed the family but I did not want to leave that pool.

A Cherry Coke+ a book+ a pool= Happy lady

My one sister loves Palm Springs! I grouped Palm Springs in with Las Vegas and the state of Arizona assuming I would hate it because of the heat. My wise sister showed me this picture of a cute hotel built in 1947 in the heart of Palm Springs. I was intrigued and willing to give the city a try. We stayed at the Del Marco Hotel. It has 16 rooms with great AC! The pool is salt water. Sinatra and the Rat Pack play in the background as you swim or soak up the sun. I really love this little hotel. You can check in, park your car and not have to drive until you check out.

On our way to Palm Springs...

In the belly of the beast

Frolicking with dinosaurs

On our way to Palm Springs we stopped to check out the Dinos. If you've seen Pee Wee's Big Adventure then you know where we're at.

Bisquick Stawberry Shortcake

Keeping busy by making a yummy summer treat! The boys helped me make Bisquick Strawberry Shortcake. When ever I make pancakes I see the recipe on the back of the box. They turned out pretty yummy. I ate 2! I used fresh whipping cream which makes it even better.

Fall

Should have named him Finny Apple Seed
The many faces of F.W.

I LOVE FALL! I've always liked Autumn but I really fell in love with Fall when my oldest son was born on the 1st day of Fall 11 years ago. He is such a super person. I could write about how he has changed my life and how special he is all day...but I won't.

Hope you enjoy the Fall make over! Have a pumpkin pie latte for me

Hello

WoW I really took an unexpected technology break. School started and things just got busy and I kinda went off the grid. In the time since I've finished Rules of Civility which is a wonderful book! I didn't want to put it down. After that I read Shanghai Girls by Lisa See. I picked this book up because it is about sisters and takes place in China before the start of WW2. I thought the sisters were pretty unlikable. The book had lots of surprises but they all seemed very predictable. I kept reading hoping that I would be rewarded by the ending but the book just ended with loose ends BLAH.

After Shanghai Girls I need a total change so I am reading Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs. It's a female centric book and it takes place present day in New York City.

On my "technology break" I went on a weekend vacation to Palm Springs. I'd never been and can't wait to share pics with you all.

I am happy to be back and will be posting more. September is national sewing month!!! I've got some sewing projects in the works and can't wait to finish and share them with you.
