coffee cozy revisited
This is one of the 1st coffee cozies I ever made AHH. A friend sent me this picture. I am so happy she is still using it!!!
I should be working on my birdie sling but I am taking a little break because I've hit a rough patch. I am a little confused about making the handle. I am so close to being done. I just don't want to mess it up! I needed to take a breather before I reread the directions.

Buttercup bag
Sometimes I will find a pattern in a library book that I want. Since you can't cut those pages out I will trace the pattern. The paper at Ikea is just thin enough to make tracing easy yet durable.
This is the buttercup bag I finished tonight. It is pretty small. It holds my cellphone and lipstick & that's about it. I got this pattern free from made by Rae (madebyrae.blogspot.com)
It's funny I just finished this bag and I am itching to make another bag already!!

April Fools
As a kid I loved April Fools. I remember coming up with elaborate plans to trick my parents. One year I froze a fake bug in an ice cube tray and severed it my Dad's drink. Now that I am older I am not the biggest fan of April 1 probably because I get fooled easy. This morning at 6:45am FW ran into my room said he woke up and the dog wasn't in his room AND the garage door was left open. I had a feeling his story seemed like baloney but I found my glasses jumped out of bed. There was the dog in the hall. April Fools! He got me.

Beverly's fabric
Compared to other cities I don't feel San Diego has a lot of fabric stores. I looked online to find stores and I was surprised that besides from a handful of Joanne's fabric, stores are few and far between. Beverly's craft and fabric www.beverlys.com is a chain in California. They have a good selection of quality fabrics ranging from oil cloth to chenille. They carry Amy Butler patterns and fabrics. Which are even lovelier in person! The staff is very friendly and helpful yet not to pushy. There always seems to be something on sale. Today all rose prints were 30% off. One draw back is their button selection isn't great. Most of the buttons seem out dated and unoriginal. Warning if you are going to this store with a small child they have lots of stuffed animals! Dr G always gets distracted by the children's books and stuffed animals.
Overall I enjoy shopping at Beverly's craft and fabric. The staff gives you enough room to shop but are readily available if you have a question. They also offer classes in sewing and crafts.

Sew Liberated
I would really like to sew something that I can wear on a regular basis. I think a skirt would be a good place to start. I was looking on the Internet today for some beginner patterns. I came across Sew Liberated www.sewliberated.typepad.com. The school house tunic looks so cute and comfortable.
