Toms

I love Toms! I think they are really comfy. I also love the idea of a shoe buy 1 give 1. My Toms got a hole but I couldn't bring myself to throw them away. I was thinking of trying to hand sew a patch over the toe.
Trying to think of a crafty way to fix them using scraps.
Instead of hand stitching I used fabric glue.
A quick fix that will give theses Toms a few more miles.

The Night Circus

I am currently reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstren. So far I love this book. The story is about magicians and a magical circus. Good thing it's a long weekend because I can't put this book down.

Just because...

I took this picture with my iPhone and I like how it turned out. D climbed a tree and he was very proud.

San Diego Zoo with an iPhone

Meerkats

Naptime

I've never been a "Mac Person" however this Christmas I got an iPhone and a Mac notebook. I was pretty dumbfounded on how to use either. I am kind of stumbling along with apps and all the cool things the iPhone and Macbook can do. I think my favorite thing with my phone is how great the camera is on it! Here are some silly pictures from the Zoo.

Need some chocolate in the New Year?

Chocolate Cookies
I tried a new cookie recipe for New Years. If you are in need of chocolate these are the cookies for you.
I got the recipe from Martha Stewart's Cookies. These cookies are chocolaty goodness. They are easy to make. I still have dough left over and I am going to crush some candy canes to roll the raw dough in before I bake them. You could make these for Valentine's Day by rolling the dough in pink or red sanding sugar.

Pre heat oven to 350
2 Cups flour
3/4 cup unsweetened Dutch process cocoa powder
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
pinch of salt
1 1/4 cup butter (2 1/2 sticks)
2 Cups sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla
Sanding Sugar for rolling (optional)
Sift together Flour,Baking Soda, pinch of salt and Cocoa powder in a medium bowl.
Beat Butter and Sugar on medium speed till light and fluffy about 2 minutes. Add Eggs and Vanilla till well combined. Reduce speed and mix in flour mixture. Form dough into flat disk and refrigerate dough for about an hour.
Preheat oven to 350 Roll dough into balls you can roll them in sanding sugar (I did not). Bake 10-12 minutes.

Is this the happiest place on earth?

This was the best part of the day when D met a real princess. He was a little scared of the Evil Queen. Snow White was so kind.

As if the boys didn't get spoiled enough for Christmas we decided to surprise them with a visit to Disneyland. This was the 1st time we've gone as a family. It was SO crowded that we didn't go on many rides but we had fun being together.
