Rustic Maple Cookies

Pull from the oven right when the edges are golden
These cookies might not be much to look at but they are delicious and very easy to make.

Glazed Maple Cookies

From Everyday Food 2010

Bake 350

Bake for 12-15 minutes

3 cups All Purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt the original recipe calls for 1 teaspoon salt but I use 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1 cup Butter @ room temperature

1 cup sugar

1 cup 100% pure maple syrup

2 large egg yolks

In a medium bowl whisk flour and salt together and set aside. In a large bowl use mixer and beat butter and sugar together until it is light and fluffy. Beat in 1/2 cup maple and egg yolks. With mixer on low beat in flour mix. Drop batter on a baking sheet. Use your thumb to slightly flatten cookie in the center. Bake at 350 for 12-25 minutes. Pull the cookies from the oven right when the edges get golden brown. Let the cookies cool. If you want to do the glaze simmer 1/2 cup maple syrup till it reduces. spoon over cooled cookies.
